Rangoli is deeply rooted in our culture and holds a very important part in keeping our traditions alive. Rangoli is said to have numerous benefits. It is said that the person sketching rangoli would change various postures, and that would straighten their spines. Rangoli brings liveliness, happiness, and positivity to a household; as per Hindu traditions, rangoli welcomes goodness Lakshmi to the house, bringing luck and good wealth. The powdered limestone used for rangoli prevents insects from entering the house. The cereal powder would attract the insects and become food for these insects preventing their entrances into the home.
Marking our glorious golden jubilee celebration to honor the long following household tradition, bring out people’s creativity, build awareness and encourage the young generation on the traditions of rangoli. We have organized a Maga rangoli competition.
Rangoli Mega Competition
Vivekananda Matriculation Higher Secondary School and Vivekananda College jointly organized a Mega rangoli competition. This humongous competition was held on the 20th of August 2022. There was a massive response to the event from both the community and students of our institutions. Over 87 teams actively participated in the competition.
The event’s participants not only surprised us by designing the most eye catchy, colorful and beautiful rangolis but also by passing strong messages to the public on pressing issues like SaveEnvironment,protecting young women, and saving water. The spectators were awed by the rangoli designs.

As recognition and appreciation for the strenuous efforts put in by the participants, all the participants were awarded a certificate. After careful consideration and judging, winners of the competition were chosen and rewarded with prize money.
