Sustainable Growth: Vivekananda School Distributes 4000 Saplings in Collaborative Environmental Drive

In a significant environmental initiative, the School Environment Forum, in collaboration with Sirkazhi Life Insurance Corporation, distributed a substantial 4000 saplings to eager students on October 20, 2023. The event commenced with a warm welcome address from the school’s Principal, Mr. P. Joshua Prabhakarasingh. Stressing the vitality of trees and the need for environmental consciousness, Mr. Prabhakarasingh set the tone for an event centered on ecological awareness.

Distinguished personalities, including the school’s Correspondent, Mr. K. V. Radhakrishnan, and Secretary Mrs. Anita Radhakrishnan, presided over the function, imparting valuable advice to the students on the imperative role they play in safeguarding nature for a healthier environment.

The Chief Guest, Mr. Shivaji, Branch Manager of LIC, played a pivotal role by presenting the saplings to the enthusiastic students. LIC Deputy Manager, Mr. Rafiq Ahmed, took the opportunity to enlighten the students about the myriad benefits that trees bring to our ecosystem. Further enhancing the educational aspect, Mr. Ramkumar, the Botany teacher, shared insightful details about the unique features and diverse utilities of trees.

The event was graced by the presence of LIC officers, including Mr. Dinesh Babu, Mr. Aravindan, and Mr. Nixon. Both students and teachers actively participated in this environmentally conscious initiative. The saplings distributed included varieties like Teak and Neem, contributing to a diverse and sustainable green cover.

As a fitting conclusion to the event, Ms. Sumathi, the coordinator of the school’s environmental forum, delivered a gracious vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all involved and emphasizing the importance of such endeavors in nurturing a sense of environmental responsibility among the younger generation.
