Our History
Beginnings
Vivekananda matriculation higher secondary school was established in 1973 as a philanthropic gesture by the most loved Mrs. Lalitha Kuzhandaivelu. She was an extraordinary woman. Her ideologies emphasize the core education aspect and the humane aspects like discipline, communication, leadership, and punctuality. Her ideologies grabbed quick attention, and the institute grew rapidly. In 1988, the baron of the school’s correspondent was passed to Mr. K.V. Radha Krishnan. His dedication and aim toward the school’s mission have led to the institution becoming the top school in the Nagai district.
The school is equipped with high-end technology, modern equipment, and solid infrastructure to provide quality and sound education to all the children. To foster better and widespread education and communication, the school uses the medium of instruction as English. Vivekananda is a co-education school serving over 5000 students from KG to XII. One of the key achievements of the school is that it has a good record of producing 100% results in X and XII standard public exams, with many students securing distinctions.

Mr.KV Radhakrishnan, along with Mrs. Anita (Secretary, VMHSS), have prioritized dedicating all their time and effort to the growth and development of Vivekananda and Good Samaritan Educational institutions in Sirkali and Mayiladuthurai.

Our chairman KV Radhakrishnan always focuses and makes sure to turn his words into action that turns every stone into success. He has ventured into all education sectors; we have institutes ranging from play school to that post-graduation and research programs. Mr. KV Radhakrishnan is best known for his down-to-earth personality and friendly character. Mrs.Anitha Radhakrishnan is the beloved Secretary of the Vivekananda Group of Institutions. Mrs. Anitha Radhakrishnan is the most intelligent person who has finetuned and refined the learning experience. She has transformed many educational practices and curriculum to make learning more enjoyable.
She has a special place in her heart for children with special needs and thrives on making education equal for everyone. She has laid a great foundation that focuses on identifying the right learning style for students, incorporating brain thinking practices coupled with a multi-intelligence approach.
When it comes to time management, she is the best; she has perfect systematic work and daily schedules that help her to execute all the tasks more efficiently. Leading as an example to many, students in the institutes look up to her as a mother.
Being an adherent Gandhi follower Mrs.Anitha is fascinated by Mahatma Gandhi’s saying, “Poor handwriting is the sign of imperfect education.” To bring justice to this saying, she ensures all her learners have legible artistic handwriting, boosting and promoting quality education for all.

Vivekananda College of Arts & Science for Women

To promote equality in education, a college for rural girls, Vivekananda College of arts and science, was established in 2004 by Mr. KV Radhakrishnan. Vivekananda College has created history by becoming the first women’s college in the municipal jurisdiction of sirkali.
Over the years, under the guidance of Mr. KV Radhakrishnan, Mrs. Anitha Radhakrishnan and Dr. P Muthukumar the college has grown to become one of the sought-out institutes to graduate from. The college is proud to be home to many young girls from low-income families, and most of the girls studying in the institute are first-generation graduates.
