Vivekananda Matriculation Higher Secondary School Achieves Sporting Prowess with 51st Sports Day, Showcasing Excellence of 6th to 12th Grade Students
On a crisp morning of January 30, 2024, the vibrant grounds of Lalitha Kuzhanthaivelu Stadium at Vivekananda Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Sirkali, came alive with the fervor of the institution’s 51st Sports Day. The day’s proceedings commenced with a symbolic touch, as P. Piraichandhiran, the Sub Inspector of Traffic in Sirkali, lit the Olympic Torch. This ignited the beginning of the Olympic relay, an exhilarating journey undertaken by district and state winners of the school. Winding through significant areas of the town, the relay culminated with the passing of the torch to the chief guest, Mr. Sivakumar, Inspector of Police, Sirkali.
An exclusive seating arena adorned with vibrant decorations awaited the enthusiastic audience, comprising students and their proud parents. The bustling energy of students from grades VI to XII filled the air as they showcased their prowess in an array of captivating events. The festivities included a spirited March past, precision-laden mass drill, culturally vibrant Arabic Dance, dynamic Pompon exercises, an impressive Cycle drill, and adrenaline-pumping relay races. The track witnessed intense competition in the 100, 800, and 1500 meters running races, showcasing the students’ athletic abilities.
The triumphant participants, who exhibited exceptional skills and determination, were duly honored with gleaming medals and certificates, adding a touch of grandeur to the occasion. To enhance the involvement of parents, a special segment titled “Parents’ Lucky Corner” added an element of excitement and engagement to the overall celebration.
