The State education department organized beach volleyball tournaments in Kanyakumari District from February 11 to February 12, 2023, to commemorate Mahakavi Bharathi Day/Republic Day. Students from our school participated in the competitions and were chosen to represent the Mayiladuthurai District team. They achieved remarkable success by winning gold medals.
In the Under 19 Boys category, our students G. Gokulan and Arishkumar showcased their skills and represented the Mayiladuthurai District. They displayed exceptional talent and determination as they went head-to-head against a formidable opponent from Chennai, ultimately securing gold medals for their outstanding performance. The scores of the match were 21/17 in the first set and 21/10 in the second set, highlighting their dominance on the court. Their success was attributed to the guidance and coaching provided by R. Sathish, the Boys’ Coach. Furthermore, G. Gokulan’s exceptional abilities earned him the prestigious title of the best player in the tournament.
In the under 17 girls category, our talented school girls, Bhavana and Priyadarshini, proudly represented the Mayiladuthurai Team. Their exceptional performance led to a resounding victory against the formidable team from Tiruppur, resulting in gold medals for their team. The scores of the match were 21/17 in the first set and 21/19 in the second set, showcasing their skill and determination. The girls received expert guidance and coaching from their dedicated coach, M. Nithya. Recognizing their remarkable achievement, our school management organized a special function to felicitate the winners, expressing their pride and appreciation for their outstanding success.
