Student Wellbeing

India is known to be a nation with good discipline and polite. From childhood our school system has been teaching us how to show respect and be humble. During the gurukulam school time, students show respect by joining hand together with nod on a head commonly known as “Namaste or Vanakkam”. This tradition is not being followed in most of the schools as students greet by good morning. We at VMHSS has instilled the traditional greeting practice of Vanakkam, when staff enters a classroom or students come across elders, they would automatically sign vanakkam, this would boost a child humbleness and discipline to lead a successful life.

Correspondent Interaction

Our correspondent aims to improve the school regularly by communicating with the students and understanding their concerns. The correspondent never misses a day to visit every class in the school. He spends some extra quality time with kids in the primary section and have interaction with them. Daily visits to every class have built a strong bond between the correspondent and students making it easy for students to converse and share their opinions

Food

There is no better medicine in the world than that of the food we eat. It is important that we consume healthy and nutrition’s food to have a strong immune system and stay healthy. As junk food is gaining popularity children are opting to consume junk food excessively which is unhealthy and can cause health issues. We take it as a priority to keep a check on the student’s health and food choice. Junk food is strictly prohibited inside the school campus. To boost awareness on healthy diet, during assembly sessions we choose a fruit or vegetable and talk about its nutrition value, facts, and health benefits.

One quality that play a vital role in every individual is leadership. All successful companies around the world have leaders from the Indian origin. It is believed that Indians have an inbuild leadership quality. We at VMHSS make sure to tap that quality out of every student, making them more responsible, take smart decisions, and delegate duty. We provide multiple opportunities for students as class representative, project leader, various social club leaders, school leader and much more. This way our students tend to gain leadership quality through practical approach.

Community Service

Our school correspondent’s philanthropy work is very well known, he always reciprocates the famous quote “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give”. We took it as a mission to make our students feel and live the joy of doing social work through various community initiatives. Few of the activities that our students actively participated in are removing the outgrown bushes and waste from around the town and they participated in a Road safety patrol, trained by the Tamil Nadu traffic police our students worked along with them to navigate traffic and spread awareness on the importance of wearing helmet and safe driving.

These activities motivated students to give back to community through social work and education. The community service has also allowed students to know more on diversity, social justice, importance of keeping our planet healthy and much more. It has also build some key qualities in students.
