Pongal Radiance: Vivekananda School Basks in Traditional Joy and Cultural Splendor

The vibrant spirit of Pongal filled the air at Vivekananda Matric. Hr. Sec. School, Sirkali, on a delightful Saturday, January 13, 2024. The entire school premises buzzed with excitement as the primary staff and students came together to partake in the traditional festivities of Pongal. Dressed in colorful traditional attire, they created a picturesque scene, embodying the cultural richness of the occasion. Under the open skies, a jubilant atmosphere prevailed as students and staff collaborated to prepare Pongal, the quintessential dish of the festival. The aroma of the cooking pots mingled with the joyous laughter and chatter, creating an immersive experience. The act of communal cooking not only celebrated the harvest festival’s essence but also fostered a sense of togetherness and shared joy among the school community.

The festivities continued with captivating cultural programs, adding an artistic touch to the celebration. From the energetic beats of kummiattam, a traditional folk dance, to the grace of classical dance performances, the students and staff showcased their talents with pride. The cultural richness of these performances mirrored the diverse talents nurtured within the school’s community. 

Special dignitaries, including Mr. K. V. Radhakrishnan, Chairman, Mr. Joshua Prabakarasingh, Senior Principal, and Mrs. Saroja Damodaran, Matric Principal, graced the occasion as special invitees. Their presence added a touch of prestige to the celebration, and they extended their heartfelt wishes to all the staff and students, emphasizing the significance of unity and cultural heritage during the festive season.
