Day Celebrations
On March 17th and 18th, 2023, Vivekananda Matriculation High School and Good samaritan Kindergarten Primary School jointly organized a celebration to mark the School Oasis Days, which was highly acclaimed.
A Celebration of School Oasis Days: Insights and Highlights
The event was attended by the school’s Correspondent, Mr. Radhakrishnan, the secretary, Mrs. Anitha Radhakrishnan, and more than 200 grandparents and parents, along with many teachers and students. The celebration began with a traditional Tamil Thai valzthu, followed by a welcome speech by the school’s principal, Mr. Joshua Prabhakarasingh. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of building and maintaining strong relationships between younger and older generations. He urged the younger generation to respect their elders and advised parents and grandparents to play an active role in guiding and nurturing younger generations
Reflections on Preserving Culture and Respect for Elders
The school’s secretary, Mrs. Anitha Radhakrishnan, spoke about the negative effects of excessive cell phone use on both children and adults. She highlighted the importance of preserving and promoting culture and urged young children to show respect and reverence towards their elders.
During the festival, young students performed various dances and acts that added to the festive atmosphere. The elders were honored with refreshments, and the school selected grandparents to receive gifts in a lottery. The kindergarten coordinator, Mrs. Vanathi, Gave a vote of thanks to all those who attended the event, and the ceremony ended on a happy note.
Overall, the celebration was an excellent opportunity for the school community to come together and celebrate the School Oasis Days. The speeches delivered by the school’s principal and secretary highlighted the importance of building and maintaining strong relationships between generations and preserving culture. The performances by the students added to the festive atmosphere and made the event even more enjoyable for everyone
