National Green
Corps 2021 - 22

The Green World is a Healthier World. Our school has introduced a wide range of green crop activities to raise awareness among the students and public on pressing causes like Environmental health, Climate change, and Pollution. Our school has formed Eco-Club to ensure all these activities are carried out with full effectiveness.

Our beloved secretary Mrs. Anitha Radhakrishnan is a great admirer of gardens and plants. She has grown her rooftop garden; she aims to instill the importance and benefits of planting trees to children from a very young age. Planting trees can empower children and allow them to take ownership of their school. She started a green movement; students are encouraged to get a sapling at a mere Rs.10 and nourish the plant. The students are also encouraged to showcase their sapling growth photographs. Our secretary makes sure to talk and educate all students about various types of samplings and their special aspects to society.

Scribble Board

Students are encouraged to use their imagination and creativity to come up with ideas that would help solve environmental problems. This activity would also ensure that the students would stay informed and have healthy discussions about various environmental concerns, their case studies, and the scientific advancements combating these issues.

Seed Bank

The seed bank is an initiative to educate students on the lifecycle of a plant and to create awareness about planting trees. A jar is placed in an active area of the school. Students and staff are advised to deposit the leftover seeds from the fruits that they consumed. These seeds are utilized to grow trees in the school nursery, also the seeds are distributed among students to encourage them to grow their home gardens.

Tree Nursery

The seeds collected from the seed bank initiative and the seeds dropped by the trees inside our campus are processed for germination. These seeds are planted in the school's nursery tree. To increase the greenery of the society the seeds are distributed among students to plant in their houses and public areas.

In Campus activities

Students attend awareness programs on the paper industry and its manufacturing process, helping them understand its impact on the society and environment. This motivated a lot of students to reduce the wastage of paper, and we have seen a tremendous decrease in paper waste. The students are also taught about the best out of waste, where the garbage is recycled, reused, or reduced by finding a new meaning for it.

Our school has excellent garbage management facilities like composting sheds to convert organic waste into useful compost for agriculture. In this academic year so far our students have grown over 88 samplings. To motivate students and to improve their active participation, their hard work is recognized by awarding the students with appreciation certificates.
